What systems does a standard server room contain?

Server room construction is a system engineering, usually including these parts, indispensable:

power supply and distribution system: Mains +UPS UPS +PDU power distribution to ensure safe operation or safe shutdown of equipment in case of power failure. More than 30% margin should be left in the power supply capacity.
refrigerating system: Precision air conditioning or special refrigeration, the temperature control at 18-27°C. Room heat, is the enemy of the server.

Step 2: Scheme Design: rack layout, power supply and distribution scheme, refrigeration scheme, wiring scheme and equipment list.
Step 3: Civil construction: Anti-static floor, wall insulation, dust prevention treatment, power distribution room preparation.
Step 4: System InstallationUPS, precision air conditioning, rack, wiring, monitoring, fire protection installation and commissioning one by one.
Step 5: Test Delivery: Full load test, power-off switching test, temperature and humidity test, issue completion documents, and provide operation and maintenance training.

We only have a few servers. Do we need to build a special server room?

If there are only two or three servers, an independent space (small rack room) with air conditioning and UPS is enough, and there is no need to build a standard server room. However, if it carries core business, it has high environmental requirements, or there will be more and more equipment, it is recommended to standardize the construction. We will do the needs assessment first and then give suggestions. We do not advise you to invest too much.

How much is the budget for server room construction?

The span is very large. Small racks (several servers) start at tens of thousands of RMB; standard rooms (dozens to dozens of racks) range from hundreds of thousands to millions, depending on the level and configuration. We design solutions according to your actual needs and budget, and spend money on the blade.

The old server room is too messy. Can it be reconstructed? Should it be closed down?
